Take steps to prepare your children for a motivated return to learning and routine. How ready are our children to return to the classroom?
About this Event
As Refresh Yourself we are happy to host Jo Tran who is a qualified teacher and experienced tutor.
At this session we will share ideas of best practice for keeping students motivated as schools remain closed to many. We will examine queries and issues faced during this period of home-schooling as well as sharing useful resources, activities and suggested planning.
Summer term brings the countdown to a long awaited rest and break from school. At least, this is what it used to. As students head into their final summer term and a possible extended summer holiday, take steps to prepare them for a motivated return to learning and routine.
Motivation has to some been considered ‘an inner drive, impulse, emotion or desire that moves one to a particular action’. Thus, a motivated learner is the learner who wants to achieve a goal and who is willing to invest time and effort in reaching that goal. However there is a fine line between being motivated to get a task done and motivation to learn. The former avoids displeasing parents and teachers, the latter is desirable for it instils an inherent ambition to reach full potential and a love of learning.
Plan ahead, be active, turn everything into a game – and throw in the towel for the day if you need to.
This session will focus on addressing certain misconceptions about home-schooling and considers the question; how ready are our children to return to the classroom?
